AI recruiting tools for healthcare, sorted by where the candidates come from

Seven tools compared on where they find candidates, and the hiring problem each one is built to solve.

An AI recruiting tool can only rank and message the clinicians it can see. The national provider registry lists 526,759 licensed nurse practitioners and 288,413 physical therapists (August 2026), and each tool below starts from a different slice of them.

Seven tools side by side

Seven AI recruiting tools that healthcare teams shortlist in 2026 fall into four groups by candidate source: your own database, public web profiles, the people who apply, and the licence record.

Tools that start from your ATS

Bullhorn and Globus.ai are applicant tracking systems for staffing agencies, with AI agents added on top. Bullhorn describes itself as running "an entire staffing or recruitment firm in one system", and its healthcare edition has workflows for travel nursing, locum tenens, allied health and per diem shifts. Its Amplify agents search and match inside your own data and handle outreach. Globus.ai, from Norway, sells an AI agent ATS to agencies in the Nordics and the UK, with healthcare as its first listed vertical and a compliance agent that tracks credential expiry.

Both are strongest when the candidates already exist in your database. An agency with years of placed nurses gets the most from them. A hospital searching for a role it has never filled gives them little to work with.

Tools that search web profiles

hireEZ, Juicebox and GoPerfect search public profiles across the web and then run the outreach. hireEZ says it searches over a billion profiles from more than 45 platforms. Juicebox says 800 million profiles from over 30 sources, searched in plain English. GoPerfect says it researches the market for a role, then runs a sequence of email, LinkedIn and an AI phone call over nine days.

None of the three is healthcare-specific, which is a strength when you hire across clinical and non-clinical roles. The limit is the source: a clinician who keeps no public profile, or whose profile omits their licence and specialty, is hard for any of them to find.

Tools that screen applicants

Paradox's assistant, Olivia, chats with and screens the people who apply, then books their interviews by text. It is built for large employers with high applicant volume, and its healthcare customers include Houston Methodist and Essentia Health. It does not go looking for candidates who have not applied.

If your problem is too many applicants and too little recruiter time, this category addresses it. If the right clinician never applies, it cannot help.

Tools that start from licences

Kandidate starts from the licence record: every clinician on the national provider registry, searchable by specialty, state and city, whether or not they are looking for work. The platform finds the clinicians who fit a role, writes to them on the employer's behalf (from the hospital's own account where possible), tracks replies and does a first screen. The employer interviews, verifies credentials and decides.

Kandidate works next to an ATS you already run rather than replacing it. It searches the candidates in your ATS alongside the licence records, so someone you placed two years ago shows up in the same list (JobDiva today, more integrations in progress).

In Automate mode you set one goal for a role: a number of booked meetings, or a number of clinicians contacted. Kandidate then sources, writes, follows up, handles replies and books meetings on its own, and pauses when it reaches the goal. The Clinician Supply Index shows the licensed count for your role and state before you start.

Which one fits your team

The right AI recruiting tool for a healthcare team depends on where your hiring gets stuck, not on which demo looked best.

  1. You place travel nurses and locums at volumeAn agency ATS such as Bullhorn. Its healthcare edition is built around shifts, credentials and per diem work, and the AI layer works the candidates you already hold.
  2. Hundreds of people apply and nobody screens themA conversational assistant such as Paradox. It chats with and screens applicants and books their interviews by text, so the people already interested reach an interview.
  3. You hire for clinical and non-clinical roles alikeA web-profile search tool such as hireEZ or Juicebox. They cover every profession that keeps a profile online, which suits office, IT and leadership roles well.
  4. Nobody suitable applies and the role stays openA tool that starts from the licence record. The clinician you need is usually employed, not applying, and often not on a recruiting site.

These categories are not exclusive. A team that already runs an ATS can keep it for the candidates it holds and add a licence-based tool for the clinicians it has not reached.
